The young Australian and whimsical (20, 41) dominated Teymuraz Gabashvili (44th) in two sets (6-4, 6-4). One break in each round (2/2) was enough against the Russian.
In the next round, Kyrgios could challenge Richard Gasquet (10th), he has beaten only once in five meetings at Wimbledon in 2014. The French will play its qualification against Latvian Ernests Gulbis (75).
