Mahut Eliminated Chardy in the 2nd Round in ATP Rotterdam

Nicolas Mahut secured a spot in the quarter finals of het ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament for the first time in his career on Thursday. The qualifier from France took out his compatriot Jeremy Chardy: 7-5, 6-2.
For the first time in four meetings Mahut (ATP-54) was too strong for Chardy (ATP-28). “I do always play well in the Netherlands”, Mahut said. He won the grass tournament of Rosmalen twice. Both times as a qualifier. “Maybe, I always have to start in the qualifying tournament.”

The 34-year old qualifier meets the winner of the clash between Viktor Troicki and Hyeon Chung next. Mahut is unbeaten for four matches in a row in Rotterdam Ahoy.
