Nishikori and Zverev Win at Indian Wells

Japanese tennis player Kei Nishikori and german Alexander Zverev advance through the next round of BNP Paribas Open (Indian Wells) 2016. Nishikori beats Steve Johnson with 2-0 in sets (7-6; 7;6) while Alexander zverev defeats french Gilles Simon in straight sets (6-2; 6-2).

Simon Fails in First Round

Defending champion Gilles Simon was out in the first round of the Marseille tournament (3-6, 6-3, 6-7 [9-7]). The No. 3 and French 15th world, who had won the first set, even had a match point in the tiebreak against Russian Teymuraz Gabashvili, the world's 44th. So far, five confrontations, the French had been defeated only once face this opponent. 
Since his loss to Novak Djokovic in the fourth round of the Australian Open, the French won only one match in three tournaments played. It was against Robin Haase, the world's 64th.
