Nico Mahut defeated Renzo Olivo in straight sets to book his place in the second round.

Nicolas Mahut of France started his BNP Paribas Open campaign against Renzo Olivo, who was making his first appearance here in the desert. Nico Mahut didn't have any problems as he dispatched the Argentine 6-2, 6-4.

Millot Beats Mahut in ATP Marseille

A few days after he hoisted Rotterdam semi-finals of an ATP 500 for the first time in his career, Nicolas Mahut failed to confirm. The 40th world player bowed from his opening match at the Open 13 against his compatriot Vincent Millot (196th) (6-7, 6-2, 6-3). Resulting qualifications, Millot will meet in the second round Benoit Paire.
