Richard Gasquet has had to withdraw from the 43th edition of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament on Tuesday.
The Frenchman, the number one seed, is suffering from a groin injury.
He also got ill over the past few days, he declared during a press
conference in Rotterdam Ahoy.
“It’s impossible for me to play a tennis match at the moment,” Gasquet said. He arrived in the Netherlands with a title after winning in Montpellier. “I’m very disappointed that I cannot play.”
Gasquet would have faced fellow Frenchman Jérémy Chardy on Wednesday. Russian Evgeny Donskoy will replace the 29-year-old.
