Gasquet to Withdraw from ATP Rotterdam

Richard Gasquet has had to withdraw from the 43th edition of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament on Tuesday.

The Frenchman, the number one seed, is suffering from a groin injury. He also got ill over the past few days, he declared during a press conference in Rotterdam Ahoy.
“It’s impossible for me to play a tennis match at the moment,” Gasquet said. He arrived in the Netherlands with a title after winning in Montpellier. “I’m very disappointed that I cannot play.”
Gasquet would have faced fellow Frenchman Jérémy Chardy on Wednesday. Russian Evgeny Donskoy will replace the 29-year-old.
